ShangrilART takeovers

In collaboration with ShangrilART, Bristol's newest independent arts centre is the opposite of a white wall gallery, inviting guest curators and artists residencies to disrupt and inspire, pushing the boundaries and borders of culture, art, and digital content.

We’ll be taking over LH HQ, with a range of workshops, talks, exhibitions and markets every few months. Look out for our infamous free art giveaways!

Check out our street gallery; a revolving exhibition available 24/7 for all to enjoy.

ABOUT SHANGRILART

ShangrilART was created for the purpose of providing limited edition art at inexpensive prices.

Aimed at filling the gap between mass-produced superficial artworks, and unobtainable ‘gallery’ art, ShangrilART challenges the stereotypical art world, spreading Shangri-La’s message of love, rebellion and humour through external projects and events.

Our aim is to give people a chance to own affordable art, whilst supporting artists by making their work accessible to everyone. Not only in galleries or institutions but also in streets, communities, and peoples homes.

Initially starting out as a small hatch in the Glastonbury field that offered free art giveaways and live screen printing, ShangrilART has grown into an art publishing company in it’s own right; collaborating with Glastonbury Festival and V&A for the Glastonbury Land and Legend Exhibition, and hosting takeovers at The Other Art Fair and Bruton Art Factory.

Profits are reinvested and divided between artists and ShangrilART to fund future projects, collaborations and ongoing development of the field at Glastonbury Festival.

“SHANGRILART aimS to reach people who wouldn't usually engage with art, by bringing it to them rather than the other way round, pushing ourselves to work in new ways and contexts, continuing to challenge ourselves and the world around us.”

— Kaye Dunnings - Creative Director, Shangri-La Glastonbury & Lost Horizon
